How BetJudge Tests & Scores Crypto Casinos
Every casino on BetJudge is evaluated using the same six-criteria process, tested with real money by Carlos Wegler. Here is exactly what that process looks like.

Why methodology matters in casino reviews
Casino review sites have an obvious conflict of interest: they earn commissions when readers sign up. The incentive is to rank casinos that pay the highest commissions, not the ones that actually deliver the best experience. BetJudge's answer to this is a fixed scoring framework applied before affiliate relationships are established, using real-money testing that cannot be faked or inflated.
Every score on BetJudge is the result of a real test. If you see a withdrawal time of "under 5 minutes" for BC Game, that is because Carlos submitted a BTC withdrawal and timed it — not because BC Game claims that on their marketing page.
The testing process — step by step
1
Real account creation
A standard player account is opened using the same registration flow any reader would follow — no special "reviewer" access, no pre-cleared KYC, no inflated bonuses. The experience tested is identical to what a new player gets on day one.
2
Deposit test
A real cryptocurrency deposit is made at a standardized test amount. We verify the transaction is credited at the correct exchange rate, within the expected timeframe, and without undisclosed conversion fees or network charges above what the casino's terms state.
3
Bonus activation
The welcome bonus is claimed under the standard terms available to any new player. We document the bonus code (if applicable), eligible deposit methods, minimum deposit threshold, and the exact bonus amount credited.
4
Wagering requirement check
The full wagering conditions are read and recorded: multiplier, eligible games and their individual contribution rates, time limits, maximum win caps, and cashout restrictions. Expected bonus value is calculated: EV = (Bonus Amount × Eligible Game RTP) ÷ Wagering Multiplier. This figure is published in the review.
5
Withdrawal test
A crypto withdrawal is submitted and timed with a stopwatch from submission to on-chain confirmation. BTC, ETH, and USDT are benchmarked separately where supported. A minimum of two withdrawal tests are completed per casino before reporting a speed figure.
6
KYC threshold review
We identify at what withdrawal amount or frequency the casino triggers identity verification. We test whether the KYC threshold is disclosed upfront, whether requests are proportionate, and how long the process takes. Casinos that trigger KYC without prior disclosure score lower on User Experience.
7
License verification
The gaming license number is verified against the issuing authority's public registry (Curaçao eGaming, Malta Gaming Authority, etc.). We confirm the license is active, matches the operating entity, and covers the jurisdiction the casino accepts players from. SSL certificate validity is also confirmed.
8
RTP and provider library review
Game providers are identified, title counts are audited against the lobby, and observed RTP variance in a sample of slot sessions is cross-referenced against published provider documentation (Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Play'n GO, etc.). Casinos that exclude high-RTP titles from bonus play or misrepresent their game count are flagged.
9
Monthly bonus re-check
Every calendar month, BetJudge re-verifies welcome bonus terms, bonus code validity, and any promotional changes across all listed casinos. Rankings are updated immediately when conditions materially change. Casinos with active payment complaints from community forums are flagged in their review until the issue is publicly resolved.
10
Affiliate disclosure and ranking independence
Affiliate links are established only after the BetJudge score is finalized and published — never before. Scores are not adjusted to improve an affiliate relationship. Casinos that request score changes, offer payment for placement, or apply pressure on rankings are permanently removed from BetJudge's index and the reason is documented.
The eight scoring criteria
Each criterion is scored on a 10-point scale. The final BetJudge score is a weighted aggregate across all eight dimensions: (Bonus × 0.25) + (Withdrawal × 0.15) + (Games × 0.15) + (Crypto × 0.10) + (Platform × 0.10) + (License × 0.10) + (UX × 0.10) + (Reputation × 0.05) × 10.
01
Bonus Value & Terms
Weight: 25%
We calculate the actual expected value of the welcome bonus after wagering requirements, using the formula: EV = (Bonus Amount × Game RTP) ÷ Wagering Multiplier. A 100% deposit match with 30x wagering at 96% RTP returns approximately $3.20 in expected value per $100 deposited. Bonuses with high wagering (50x+), restricted game lists, or short expiry windows score lower regardless of the headline percentage.
02
Withdrawal Speed
Weight: 15%
Withdrawal times are measured in minutes from submission to blockchain confirmation. BTC, ETH, and USDT are benchmarked separately where supported. Benchmark: under 10 minutes scores 9–10. 10–30 minutes scores 7–8. Over 30 minutes scores below 7. Casinos with undisclosed or unpredictable withdrawal queues are penalized regardless of claimed speed.
03
Game Library & RTP
Weight: 15%
Total title count, provider diversity (top-tier: Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Play'n GO), and average RTP across slot categories. We verify that high-RTP titles are not systematically excluded from bonus play, which is a common hidden restriction. Provably fair original games receive a quality bonus.
04
Crypto Payments
Weight: 10%
Number of accepted cryptocurrencies, whether transactions are native on-chain or routed through third-party processors, network support per asset (ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, etc.), and minimum deposit/withdrawal amounts. Native on-chain processing is preferred — third-party conversion introduces delays and counterparty risk.
05
Platform Features
Weight: 10%
Presence of a sportsbook, proprietary in-house games (provably fair originals), VIP and loyalty programs, bonus calculators, RTP tracking tools, and features that extend value beyond the basic casino offering. Platforms with broader, more integrated feature ecosystems receive higher marks.
06
License & Security
Weight: 10%
Licensing jurisdiction, license number verification against the issuing authority's public registry, SSL certificate status, KYC policy transparency, provably fair game availability, and presence of responsible gambling tools (deposit limits, session limits, self-exclusion). Unlicensed or unverifiable operations score 0 on this criterion and are not listed.
07
User Experience
Weight: 10%
Mobile performance (iOS + Android), live chat response time and accuracy, interface quality, navigation clarity, and overall ease of use. Casinos that make withdrawal initiation unnecessarily difficult or bury key settings score lower in this category.
08
Reputation & Track Record
Weight: 5%
Years of active operation, documented payment history, absence of unresolved withdrawal disputes in public forums, and community reputation signals. A longer, cleaner payment track record reduces player risk. New platforms with no track record score lower regardless of other attributes.
Score scale
| Score range |
Meaning |
| 9.0 – 10.0 | Exceptional — best-in-class on multiple criteria. Recommended for most players. |
| 8.0 – 8.9 | Strong — solid across all criteria with minor limitations. Worth considering. |
| 7.0 – 7.9 | Average — acceptable but with notable weaknesses. Specific use cases only. |
| Below 7.0 | Below standard — not listed on BetJudge's recommended rankings. |
Update cadence
Rankings and bonus details are reviewed and updated monthly. When a casino changes its bonus terms, alters KYC requirements, or has documented payment issues raised in community forums, the review is updated before the next scheduled cycle. Casinos with active payment complaints are flagged with a notice in their review until the issue is resolved.
What we do not do
We do not accept paid reviews. Casinos cannot pay to be reviewed, to be listed, or to improve their score. The only way to appear on BetJudge is to score above our quality threshold through independent testing.
We do not copy-paste casino marketing. Every figure cited in a BetJudge review — withdrawal speed, RTP, game count — has been independently verified. If a casino claims "instant withdrawals" but our tests show 45 minutes, the review says 45 minutes.
We do not keep failed casinos listed. When a casino develops documented payment problems or materially misrepresents its terms, it is removed from our rankings. We document the reason.
