How BetJudge Tests & Scores Crypto Casinos

Every casino on BetJudge is evaluated using the same six-criteria process, tested with real money by Carlos Wegler. Here is exactly what that process looks like.

Why methodology matters in casino reviews

Casino review sites have an obvious conflict of interest: they earn commissions when readers sign up. The incentive is to rank casinos that pay the highest commissions, not the ones that actually deliver the best experience. BetJudge's answer to this is a fixed scoring framework applied before affiliate relationships are established, using real-money testing that cannot be faked or inflated.

Every score on BetJudge is the result of a real test. If you see a withdrawal time of "under 5 minutes" for BC Game, that is because Carlos submitted a BTC withdrawal and timed it — not because BC Game claims that on their marketing page.

The testing process — step by step

1
Account registration
Open a standard player account using the same registration flow any user would follow. No special "reviewer" access, no inflated bonuses, no bypassed verification. The experience Carlos reviews is the one any reader would get.
2
Welcome bonus activation
Deposit cryptocurrency and activate the welcome bonus under the standard terms. Read the wagering requirements, eligible game list, time limits, and maximum win caps before playing. These terms are documented verbatim in the review.
3
Bonus value calculation
Use the wagering requirement, the average slot RTP of eligible games, and the deposit amount to calculate the expected net value of the bonus. A 200% match with 60x wagering on 96% RTP games is worth significantly less than its face value — this is calculated and disclosed.
4
Withdrawal benchmark
Submit a cryptocurrency withdrawal and record the time from submission to on-chain confirmation. BTC, ETH, and USDT are tested where supported. Minimum two withdrawal tests per casino before the speed figure is reported.
5
RTP verification
For each casino, Carlos runs session logs on a representative sample of slot titles and cross-references the observed variance against the RTP figures published in provider documentation (Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Play'n GO, etc.). If the published RTP is not achievable in practice or the casino restricts high-RTP games in bonus play, this is flagged in the review.
6
Game library audit
Count the total titles, identify the provider list, check for live casino coverage, sports betting availability, and provably fair originals. Verify that the game count listed by the casino matches what is accessible in the actual lobby.
7
License and security verification
Verify the gaming license number against the issuing authority's public registry (Curaçao eGaming, Malta Gaming Authority, etc.). Check SSL certificate validity. Confirm responsible gambling tools (deposit limits, self-exclusion) are accessible.
8
Support test
Contact live chat support with a standardized set of questions and record the first-response time. Ask about wagering requirements, withdrawal limits, and KYC thresholds. Assess whether responses are accurate and useful.
9
Mobile experience
Access the casino on iOS and Android in a mobile browser environment. Test navigation, game loading, deposit/withdrawal flow, and support accessibility on mobile. Most players use mobile — a desktop-only review is incomplete.
10
Score and publish
Apply the six-criteria scoring framework (see below). Write the review. Establish or confirm the affiliate link only after the score is finalized. Publish.

The six scoring criteria

Each criterion is scored on a 10-point scale. The final BetJudge score is a weighted aggregate across all six dimensions.

01
Bonus Value & Terms
Weight: 25%
We calculate the actual expected value of the welcome bonus after wagering requirements, using the formula: EV = (Bonus Amount × Game RTP) ÷ Wagering Multiplier. A 100% deposit match with 30x wagering at 96% RTP returns approximately $3.20 in expected value per $100 deposited. Bonuses with high wagering (50x+), restricted game lists, or short expiry windows score lower regardless of the headline percentage.
02
Payout Speed
Weight: 20%
Withdrawal times are measured in minutes from submission to blockchain confirmation. BTC, ETH, and USDT are benchmarked separately where supported. Benchmark: under 10 minutes scores 9–10. 10–30 minutes scores 7–8. Over 30 minutes scores below 7. Casinos with undisclosed or unpredictable withdrawal queues are penalized regardless of claimed speed.
03
Game Library
Weight: 20%
Total title count, provider diversity (top-tier: Evolution, Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Play'n GO), and average RTP across slot categories. We verify that high-RTP titles are not systematically excluded from bonus play, which is a common hidden restriction. Provably fair original games receive a quality bonus.
04
Cryptocurrency Support
Weight: 15%
Number of accepted cryptocurrencies, whether transactions are native on-chain or routed through third-party processors, network support per asset (ERC-20, TRC-20, BEP-20, etc.), and minimum deposit/withdrawal amounts. Native on-chain processing is preferred — third-party conversion introduces delays and counterparty risk.
05
License & Security
Weight: 10%
Licensing jurisdiction, license number verification against the issuing authority's public registry, SSL certificate status, provably fair game availability, and presence of responsible gambling tools (deposit limits, session limits, self-exclusion). Unlicensed or unverifiable operations score 0 on this criterion and are not listed.
06
User Experience
Weight: 10%
Mobile performance (iOS + Android), live chat response time and accuracy, interface quality, navigation clarity, and KYC process transparency. Casinos that obscure KYC requirements or make withdrawal initiation difficult score lower in this category.

Score scale

Score range Meaning
9.0 – 10.0Exceptional — best-in-class on multiple criteria. Recommended for most players.
8.0 – 8.9Strong — solid across all criteria with minor limitations. Worth considering.
7.0 – 7.9Average — acceptable but with notable weaknesses. Specific use cases only.
Below 7.0Below standard — not listed on BetJudge's recommended rankings.

Update cadence

Rankings and bonus details are reviewed and updated monthly. When a casino changes its bonus terms, alters KYC requirements, or has documented payment issues raised in community forums, the review is updated before the next scheduled cycle. Casinos with active payment complaints are flagged with a notice in their review until the issue is resolved.

What we do not do

We do not accept paid reviews. Casinos cannot pay to be reviewed, to be listed, or to improve their score. The only way to appear on BetJudge is to score above our quality threshold through independent testing.

We do not copy-paste casino marketing. Every figure cited in a BetJudge review — withdrawal speed, RTP, game count — has been independently verified. If a casino claims "instant withdrawals" but our tests show 45 minutes, the review says 45 minutes.

We do not keep failed casinos listed. When a casino develops documented payment problems or materially misrepresents its terms, it is removed from our rankings. We document the reason.
